What is Quarter Midget Racing?

Quarter Midget racing is a family-oriented sport that involves racing in
specially prepared cars. The cars, rules and safety procedures are designed
specifically for kids.

They race on oval tracks approximately 1/20 of a mile in length. A child who
is 5 to 16 years of age can race. Safety features include full roll cages,
multi-point seat harnesses, full-face helmets, and other gear. This sport has
fewer injuries than little-league football.

The National Quarter Midget Association is constantly reviewing and
evaluating safety rules to ensure that quarter midget racing remains a safe
and competitive sport. The racing environment is all about children and
family fun. Not only do kids learn valuable skills and sportsmanship, but they
also make new friends. Mom and Dad will make new friends too.

**** Are You Doing Your Part? ****
With a car count often around 50 cars for an event, our scoring
tower is as busy as ever.   We have a couple of new scorers that
have been learning the process in 2008.   Can you help the club
by joining our scorers?

The quality racing in 2008 along with a little shade over our
grandstands is clearly leading to an increasing numbers of
spectators for our events.   This bodes well for new members in
the years to come who were first exposed to our sport and club as
spectators.   And, our concessions sales reflect this enthusiasm in
the grandstands as of late; but our club needs help during our
events in the concession building.   Can you help our club by
volunteering some time to our concessions?

**** Official TKQMA Photographer ****
Kayla Riley-Lohness has been retained as the Official Track
Photographer for 2008 TKQMA events. Ms. Lohness-Reese
captured some of the very best of our sport, members, and racing
action in her 2007 pictures. Expect more of the same in 2008
along with a fitting recap of our year when the fall weather ends
our racing season. Web-Site:
