About Our Sport:

The Topeka Kansas Quarter Midget Association (TKQMA) has been in existence for over 50
years. Although not always in existence at the current location near Forbes Field, quarter
midget racing has had support from the families involved to keep this sport alive in the area.

Currently we have over 30 families involved with quarter midget racing in our club. Together,
these families raised over $100,000 to build a new, state-of-the-art track off of University
Boulevard. The new facility includes a scoring tower, concession stand, bleacher seats, large
staging area, plenty of parking, and restroom facilities. Our track is one of the largest and
safest tracks in the country.

The club also came together to take on two of the largest events in the country - the 2002
Eastern Grand National Race and the 2006 Western Grand National Race. The “Grands”
brought over 1,000 registered race cars from all over the country to Topeka to compete
between the 2 events.

On the local level, we race on Sundays beginning in mid-April. The other Region 6 clubs
come to our events and many of our drivers travel to Regional races in Oklahoma and Texas.

At the end of the season, we host an annual awards banquet where all drivers receive
trophies for their accomplishments - both in points and participation.

The Topeka QMA club welcomes each family into the club and assists them in many ways.
The Novice Mentoring Program couples a novice family with an existing racing family to assist
them in car set-up and racing techniques for the first few races of the season or until they feel
comfortable racing unassisted.
